To go on this boat trip, you need to get to Hotel Lago Grey, inside Torres del Paine National Park. We can arrange a rented car for you, or a private transfer if you prefer not to drive. At Hotel Grey you will do the check-in for the Grey III boat. From there a short hike will take you through a mature lenga tree forest, to the lake’s beach, until you get to the pier.
During the boat ride you will enjoy an overwhealming landscape of enormous mountains, milky glacial waters and blue icebergs.
After one hour, the vessel will reach the front wall of this impressive mass of ice that slides downhill from the Southern Patagonian Icefield. You will be able to closely observe the whole beauty and immensity of its ice walls, over 20 meters tall, which display an incredible palette of deep blue translucent colours. During one hour the boat will slowly travel along the glacier front in order to admire its details: crevasses, waterfalls, caves, cracking noises, and even dettachments.
Then the one-hour journey back to the pier and hotel will take place. After that, you will drive back to Puerto Natales in the car or the hired transfer.
