We will drive to a ranch near Puerto Natales, where we will visit the stables and get to know the friendly creole horses that will then take us around Lake Sofía through magical lenga tree forests, ascending the mountain slope. Before getting to the highest spot at 1,000 m.a.s.l., we will share a typical meal under the trees, while we enjoy the presence of birds and the pristine environment. After lunch we will go up to the high look-out, from where you can enjoy views of the Última Esperanza fjord, the Patagonian Andes scenery, the Cordillera Prat, and amazing skies crossed by Andean condors.
We will as well explore several caves where important archeological and paleontological findings have taken place. Within many remains of mega fauna that lived in the area, we can mention the well-known saber-toothed tiger and the giant ground sloth or milodon; also remains of a 10,000 years old camp fire were found.
